Experienced Leadership
As executive director of an inner city after school program in our former home of Gary, Indiana, I tutored and mentored area students, while advocating for parents and grandparents rights in public schools. There I learned that our greatest assets are within our own communities. I was extremely active in the pushback of California's enhanced new sexual education curriculum provisions. I've also been the Director of Everything in the Davis household for over 20 years! |
Why I'm Running
Over the past few years parents haven't been considered equal partners in the education of our children. We've asked the representatives we elected to listen to us, and at times we've been turned away or told to be quiet. Our children deserve better, and they need us now more than ever. Our children deserve a voice that represents them, and we need a voice that represents us. |
Equal Representation
As a professional opinion journalist my politics are out there for all to see and I'm easy to find. However, above all else I am a parent, and just like many parents over the last two years, I have felt shut out, unheard and often insulted by the people I expected to represent me and the interests of my family. I would never wish that experience on anyone. As our Area 2 Trustee, I pledge to listen to and represent all parents. I will be your voice on our school board. Parents and students first! |
Let's Diversify Our Board!
As a Black mother raising a Black family in south Orange County, I can say there's no place we'd rather be. We love Ladera Ranch and our surrounding communities and we have no plans to be anywhere else right now. I've been a grateful part of this community for long enough to know that my fellow residents welcome and embrace diversity...the diversity I see every day. It's time for our school board to reflect the diversity of our community. |
